Dr. Peter Crocker is a professor in the School of Human Kinetics at the University of British Columbia. He was the Director of the School from 1999-2004. His research focuses on stress and adaptation, with a particular interest in understanding health related behaviour. Ongoing research includes investigating physical self-perceptions and health in adolescent girls, coping with social physique anxiety in adolescence, and identifying key psychological determinants of physical activity in children and youth. The World Sport Psychology Sourcebook (2001) identified Dr. Crocker as one of the top three sport psychology researchers in Canada.
