Founded in 2006 by architect and scholar Jana Revedin with the Cité de l'architecture & du patrimoine as a cultural partner, the Global Award for Sustainable Architecture™ annually recognizes five architects who share the principles of sustainable development and a participatory architectural approach to society's needs, in both the global North and the global South. Since 2010, the Global Award has been placed under the High Patronage of UNESCO. The subject addressed at the 14^th edition of the Global Award is : « Architecture and nature : a new synergy ? ». The prize winners 2021 are : Teresa Moller (Chile), Gloria Cabral & Solano Benitez, (Paraguay), José Cubilia (Paraguay), Severiano Porto (Brazil), Richard Sennett (United Kingdom).
